If this sounds suspiciously like real life, I suppose it is. Somebody (was it Churchill?) said that if they wanted him to talk for half an hour he needed a week's preparation, for an hour, three days. If they wanted him to talk for four hours he could start immediately. I suppose teaching is like that. Anyway, FWIW, I regularly dream that it's the first day of class (that I'm teaching) and I have simply <i>forgotten to attend</i>!
